ต้องบอกก่อนว่า น้ำมันเครื่องที่เหมาะสมกับรถแต่ละคัน จะถูกระบุจากผู้ผลิต หรือดูได้จากคู่มือรถนั่นเอง 

แต่ถ้าใช้งานมานานแล้วอยากเปลี่ยนสเปคน้ำมัน ถ้าดูที่มาตรฐาน ILSAC ตัวที่ระบุนั้น แปลว่าอะไร

 

ILSAC  จะเน้นไปที่เครื่องยนต์เบนซินเป็นหลัก

มาตรฐานอัพเดตล่าสุด ILSAC GF-5 and ILSAC GF-6  

 ILSAC GF-5  เทียบเท่า API SN

ILSAC GF-6A สำหรับรถใหม่ ที่ออกแบบประหยัดน้ำมัน ลดการปล่อยไอเสีย ที่ความหนืด 0W-20 หรือมากกว่า 

ILSAC GF-6B  สำหรับรถใหม่ เช่นกัน ที่มีค่าความหนืดต่ำกว่า 0W-20 ได้แก่เบอร์ 0W-16

ILSAC GF-6A

for modern engines looking to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, backwards compatible with older specifications, handles viscosities 0W20 and above

ILSAC GF-6B

for modern engines that are looking to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, not backwards compatible with older specifications, handles viscosities below 0W20, e.g. 0W16
